My Pot Of Gold
Every passing year of my life brings with it issues that I never ever imagined I would have, like ever!
When I was younger, I saw women with textured skin & always wondered why would they have skin like that?
I wish I could tell my younger self right now… Don’t judge baby girl, she probably doesn’t use the right skincare.
My mum did the best she could to guide me with the best possible products available to her with the resources she had. Being a divorced parent raising a child all by yourself back in the day wasn’t an easy feat to achieve. The most expensive product in my house at the time, that could be termed as skincare, was Olay. We used it very sparingly and only in winters.
But my mum was full of wonderful home remedies which were great for my skin, but did take a chunk of her time that she could’ve spent with me. I enjoyed the flower petal scrubs with milk and honey that she made for me to use as a face scrub and body polish. I had the best skin ever for a very long time. Well, till 2020 & lockdown.
All that could go wrong with my skin has gone wrong from last year. I spent the second half of last year trying a truck load of products which would, to be honest, solve the problem temporarily, but not for long.
That brings me to my pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
Have you heard of Good Genes? No, not the DNA one in your body. (eye roll)
I’m talking about one of the most effective products from Sunday Riley. It’s called Good Genes. This is truly a Gen(i)e in a bottle for me.
Good Genes is a lactic Acid treatment which helps with quicker exfoliation, instant plumping of fine lines, visible brightness & even toned skin.
The ingredients that help with all this are clinically proven ingredients mixed with balancing botanicals to get realtime results.
Unless exfoliated at least 3 to 4 times a week, our skin tends to get loaded with dirt, grime, dead skin & a lot of other gunk that may not be visible but is right there on your skin, gladly working up some ugly blackheads & fat pimples. The dullness and fine lines? Let’s not even go there!! Living in Dubai, I guess people do get used to having a few fine lines on the face along with dark spots from sun exposure.
Considering all the external and internal roller coasters that your skin is exposed to, I highly recommend Good Genes Lactic Acid.
Even though this is an exfoliating treatment, I use it AM & PM both. It’s made a world of difference to my skin.
Top Tip – I cannot emphasize enough about using Sunscreen every single day. Especially if you use exfoliating products like good genes or exfoliating toners. Do not use this without ample sunscreen.
I get my products mainly from Sephora MiddleEast cause I genuinely don’t wanna take chances with my skin. Sephora is the only name I trust for mid to high range beauty products.
