Bodyshop events are something that I always look forward to! I love to be surrounded by beautiful colors, textures & smells. I love fragrances. Yeah, that says it all! I love my shower gels, my lotions, my perfumes, everything that smells delicious. So a trip to The Body Shop is like a treat to my senses! I love the place! I visit the festival city branch very often.
I’m more of a same fragrance continuity kind of a person, so my shower gel and lotion are almost the same always. The perfumes can be different depending on the mood but I tend to lean more on the exotic, woody, musky kinda scents. More like raiding my husbands stash than my own!! 😀
Honestly, I do love florals as well but they have to appeal to me at all levels, I need to love the bottle as much as the scent. The base notes have to be very powerful for me to buy a floral perfume. So these little beauties were a perfect match! They are made from the rarest and the most exotic plants in the most faraway places possible. They appeal to my Wilde Side!!!
With the launch of ‘Elixirs Of Nature’ The Body Shop has once again stayed true to their commitment of ‘Enrich Not Exploit’. This basically means that they do their best to not harm the nature. They have used a Headspace technology to create these fragrances. This technology is based on cocooning the plant, flower or wood in a hollow dome or glass sphere, and creating a vacuum where the fragrance compound emitted by the plant flower or wood can be sampled. The essence is then recreated and incorporated into a bottled fragrance, leaving nature untamed.
Five very rare fragrances were launched at this fabulous event by The Body Shop; Nigritella from the Swiss Alps, Khaia from Bora Bora, Polynesia, Switenia from Banglore, India, Bowhanti from French Guiana, Amazonia & Widdringtonia from Western cape, South Africa.
All the fragrances are immensely exotic and mesmerizing, but I quite liked the Nigritella & the Widdringtonia for myself.
I’m super pleased with my bottle of Nigritella. Yes, it is floral and girly but, the flowers are Red Vanilla Orchid with a hint of Tuberose!!! How exotic is that? I love the fragrance!
Have you tried these fragrances? You must! I would love to know which is your favorite from these.
Insider tip for buying perfumes – When you try a perfume on at a store, don’t buy it immediately, wait till the next day. The 24 hours give you an idea of the middle notes and end notes of the scent. You will also know if this particular perfume will last long enough.
Until Later…
