Since it now officially the winter season in this country, it’s time to bring out the Holiday season collection from Marc Jacob’s.
I love the rich and luxurious feel of this collection. Marc Jacob’s is never the one to be considered loud, but still, making a bold statement with the choice of fabrics and texture.
“It’s very soft, very neutral, and very fresh. We wanted this collection to be layered but very linear and light, so that it wasn’t what you would expect of layering. We wanted to explore luxurious techniques in a different way and wanted everything to be as beautiful inside as it was out.” – Marc Jacobs
It’s a calming collection of soft beiges and greys. Beautiful lightweight fabrics are paired with luxurious knits in silhouettes that go modern and easy with curved seams, which gave reference to the 1970s.
Oversized sweaters and tunics are paired with stovepipe leggings, double-faced cashmere coats and dresses with side slits and deep v necklines.
A selection of fur bombers in pastels, sequins and beautiful organza tiered dresses that appear lighter than air. Looks that are paired with thigh high fur boots, 60’s inspired quilted booties, python and ostrich sneakers and super luxe shoulder bags in suede and ostrich, with polished nickel details in the same rich shades.
“We looked at women like Meryl Streep and Jessica Lange,” Jacobs said. “Women we admire and respect and who have strength without any agressivity.”
A study in luxurious details that simply appear effortless—the FW ‘14 Collection from Marc Jacobs reminds us that what is understated can still make a statement.
I’m loving the Holiday season range of bags that they have in the stores.
Two of my favorites are the classic Polka Dot below &
The Classic in Cambridge Red!!
