When the city is buzzing with well-known Italian names from the furniture & soft furnishing industry, this new store which is just off the Sheikh Zayed road, came as an absolute refreshing change. Not that I will ever tire of anything Italian, but a different look and feel is always welcome.
French for me is the 18th century Châteaus or 19th century Villas. This kind of furniture or some key pieces from it usually have a coat of paint. Whites and pastels seem to dominate the accents in France. The Artisans in this part of the world are more inclined towards the classic cuts of chairs or sofas or the headboard for their beds with emphasis on rich upholstery and wall papers. Even in today’s day and age when the world has embraced and converted to completely stark modernism, the furniture from France even when its contemporary, still is reminiscent of the era gone by.
I love the way La Maison Verte have taken pains in seeking out the furniture which has just the right balance of modern minimalism & the classic curves with delicately merged finishes. Quite a combination of the glories of Paris & the mysteries of the French countryside.
You will feel the difference the moment you enter La Maison Verte. It is quite a huge store which thankfully isn’t crammed with sofas and beds and chairs in every visible spot. It is well laid out and very spacious. You can easily take a whole afternoon just leisurely browsing through the store and the numerous little accessories that enhance the style of this space. The best part about the furniture is that each piece is unique, eliminating the fear of owning the same living room as some one else!!
The store is charmingly styled which brings out the actual essence of home decor & enhances the visual appeal making it a pleasurable shopping experience.
The wall finishes available with La Maison Verte will be a great focal point in any room if you wish to add a touch of the classic French feel.
You could choose from a collection of beds with head-board upholstered in silk with antique styled motifs in hues of gold and bronze or the beautiful sofas with silk or striped upholstery to take you back in time to the streets of old Paris…
I came out immensely pleased with what I saw & will be going back for more.
Till the next Rendezvous…
