Reviewed! Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment

You might not want to reveal your age to the rest of the world, but, your eyes and lips may just give it away! Just like the area around your eyes starts developing fine lines with age, the area around your lips does too.

Yeah, those pesky fine lines around your lips are a sign of aging. These are the lines from where your lipsticks start bleeding. I hated to see that feather design around my lips, thats when i seriously started considering filler options for my lips. But I guess I’m not ready to get into injections just yet. Thankfully, it’s around that time that I was invited to the launch of the latest product from Dermalogica. The ‘Nightly Lip Treatment’.

This is a serum in a tube which comes with a metal applicator, just like a lip balm applicator. now just cause it looks like a lip balm, don’t get over enthusiastic and start applying it like one. you need to squeeze a tiny bit out of the tube and apply it around your lips and on your laughlines. Whatever is left over can then be applied on top of your lips.

What does this contain?

  • Indian Gentian
  • Sesame seed extract
  • Shea butter
  • Hyaluronic acid

These work brilliantly to firm, moisturize, hydrate and restore the protective barrier around your lip area.

I have been using this for over a month now and can actually see a difference in the way my lipstick behaves. My laugh lines are visibly reduced. All in all, I’m pretty happy with the product.

Have you guys tried this product? I would love to know your thoughts on this product!

A lot more interesting things coming up on the blog soon! Until then,

Laters….

Summer Vibes For Your Wardrobe…

I’m not a huge adventurous soul when it comes to fashion. I stick to safe and familiar styles, even if it means that I’m living in the 1900’s!! It’s just been one year that I have started wearing sleeveless clothes. I’m yet to venture into the off shoulder trend. It’s just that a change in style makes me very conscious and unsure of myself. I hate not being confident, ever!!

One of the few places that I’m pretty confident of shopping at is RED TAG. They are super trendy and unbelievably affordable. They also have a lot in my size. My size? I’m a cusp between a regular person and a plus size person. Yeah, imagine that!! I feel unwelcome every where, I just don’t fit in any set pattern. The best part in this store is that the staff is very warm and welcoming. Happy to help you out once they know what your style is.

There have been times when I’ve picked up 3 or 4 pieces and gone to the changing room and the shopping assistant has, on her own picked out a few designs and brought them to my changing room for me to try. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased at the proactive effort from the store staff.

So, when it comes to getting a affordable summer refresh for your wardrobe, Red Tag is the place to go! They have some fab mix and match options available for summer. Below are a few of my favourites.

I’m obsessed with the flower details on the pants!! This is a perfect outfit for travels!! The T shirt says it all.

This dress though…

I will surely add this to my wardrobe for a day at the beach! I loved the soft fabric of this dress.

Even though the sleeves are long, I’m in love with the print of this shirt. The fabric is light and perfect for summer.

This top is what caught my eye! Don’t you think it’s super pretty?

I’m adding these to my wardrobe this summer. Did you like this collection? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Blazing Hot Nails in Paris Fashion Week By Inglot!!!

The catwalk was for Kenzo SS 2018 collection but people were raving about the Blazing Hot Ombre nails on the models created by the talented manicurists of Inglot in collaboration with the Iconic nail artist Naomi Yasuda!

With the mesmerizing quality of a blazing evening bonfire, this look served as a powerful contrast to the bright spring and summer looks shown on the KENZO runway, and it will surely inspire fall nails this year.

“The inspiration was Japanese supermodel Sayoko Yamaguchi – She was a model actress in the 70’s and 80’s, and she was also Kenzo Takada’s muse,” said Naomi Yasuda, lead nail artist sponsored by INGLOT. “Her look was very unique, she was known for her beautiful black hair and red lips. So this season for the KENZO show, I created black and red ombré nails.

“It’s very simple and clean yet chic,” said Yasuda. It almost looks like a Japanese lacquer ware.” The manicures were complimented with glossy black pedicures.

The Look: Red and black ombré nails

The Products: Naomi began with a base coat of the INGLOT Ridge Filler. She then applied a layer of the blazing red using INGLOT Nail Enamel 805 and created the black ombré effect with a sponge using INGLOT Breathable Nail Enamel 692, and sealed with INGLOT Dry & Shine.

All INGLOT products used to create the looks seen at these shows are available at more than 600 retail locations worldwide.

I loved the look! And you?

Trend Alert – 2017 Summer Sunnies!!!

Sunnies are something which I can never have enough of! I don’t even bother justifying a pair of new sunnies!

If at all you need to justify your purchase of some cool AF sunnies, here are 5 damn good reasons that will convince even you!!

  • Reasons to Wear Sunglasses

1.) UV Protection. The sun’s UV radiation can cause cataracts; benign growths on the eye’s surface; and photokeratitis, sometimes called snow blindness, which is a temporary but painful sunburn of the eye’s surface. Wide-brimmed hats and caps can block about 50 percent of UV radiation from the eyes but optometrists say that is not enough protection.

2.) Blue-Light Protection. Long-term exposure to the blue and violet portion of the solar spectrum has been implicated as a risk factor for macular degeneration, especially for individuals that are “sun sensitive.”

3.) Comfortable vision. The sun’s brightness and glare interferes with comfortable vision and the ability to see clearly by causing people to squint and the eyes to water.

4.) Dark adaptation. Spending just two or three hours in bright sunlight can hamper the eyes’ ability to adapt quickly to nighttime or indoor light levels. This can make driving at night after spending a day in the sun more hazardous.

5.) Skin Cancer. Cancer of the eyelids and skin around the eyes is more common than people think. People should wear sunglasses outdoors whether they are working, driving, participating in sports, taking a walk, running errands or doing anything in the sun.

These reasons are sourced from Fox News so they are completely legit!!

Now that we have ample and legit reason to believe that we need some top quality sunglasses, let’s shop around, shall we?

CHLOÈ EYEWEAR 2017

Let’s start with Vintage Inspirations! There’s a whole range of vintage Inspired Sunnies from Chloe.

Vintage inspiration and modern design come together in an alluring, sophisticated collection with luxurious details and a Seventies feel. The iconic models feature unique colors and reflections created by new gloss effects and highly distinctive material combinations, inspired by Chloé’s EFFORTLESS feminine elegance

The palette includes gradient Black, gradient Dove Gray, gradient Brown/Yellow and gradient Taupe. Priced at AED 1,890.

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO

A SOPHISTICATED DESIGN WITH A MODERN FINISH

The new eyewear collection by Salvatore Ferragamo combines tradition with innovation, aesthetics with function, elegance with practicality. The result is eyewear loaded with unique style and personality.

Cat Eye anyone? I’m in love with this perfect Cat Eye shape in Salvatore Ferragamo priced at AED 1,690.

GUESS 2017

The round shape still remains one the coolest around. Reinvented by the global lifestyle brand Guess in latest eyewear collection, the intriguingly feminine, decidedly round silhouettes of this style are full of glamour. They suit anyone with angular features and square faces. Available in classic black and animal prints, with metal details on the bridge and temples embossed with the “GUESS” logo and joined to the front with the iconic triangle motif.

Go retro with these pairs, ideal for a day out on the beach. Price range begins from AED 420

ROBERTO CAVALLI

Embrace the 70’s trend with Roberto Cavalli’s latest range of flamboyant oversized sunglasses – a timeless style that never really left the runway. This season, sunglasses are bolder than ever, with thick frames and exaggerated styles dressed up with glitter and embellishments.

Made for the bold and daring, choose from cat-eye, rectangular or butterfly shapes, and make it as extravagant as you can handle – because it’s all about standing out this season.

Price range begins from AED 1200

These are 5 of my top picks this season, my choice of Summer Sunnies!!

What do you think? Which ones did you like from these?

Floored At Quattro!!

I may not be a food blogger but I am a true foodie at heart!! I love my food and am pretty much aware of what a dish is supposed to be. So technically speaking, I have an opinion and I feel I can be a damn good food critic!

Since I haven’t been to any molecular gastronomy kinda restaurant before, I was pretty sure that this whole molecular gastronomy is overrated, maybe the food doesn’t taste as good as the original version.

This is before I got invited to review Quattro. I was all super excited and happy and all possible half mad kinda vibes happening around my system!

Promptly at the pre decided time, I landed in the restaurant. Parking is pretty easily available near this place so that was a score.

The decor is what enchanted me. The darker Pastel colors and the huge tree in the middle of the restaurant was a shock! A pleasant one, I must add. The lights around and on the tree were brilliant!! I fell in love with the ambience of this place. Nice and cozy.

The menu was quite textured and good looking. So the excitement was building up. We started off with the mocktails;

A Watermelon Ice Tea – A nice smokey affair once the tea was poured (something to do with dry ice / nitrogen in the watermelon rocks, I guess?) Loved the whole experience.

Apple Basil cooler– It came in some sort of a chemistry lab beaker / glass/ container. Very intriguing and yum!!

Ginger Lemon Mojito – This was a real yum drink again with the whole drama of molecular gastronomy. I was quite enjoying this whole experience.

The starters though…. Mind blowing!!

I’m more of a mexican food lover so I ordered the Fresh Guacamole. The whole Guac on the spot scene ensued, but then came the twist with the addition of liquid nitrogen. The cool Guacamole was then scooped in the avocado skins. I missed the garlic bit in the Guacamole, but it was tasty nonetheless.

The starter called taquito is a must try at Quattro!! A refined mini cone of Taco filled with refried beans, placed atop Pico de gallo, in a shot glass and topped with avocado ice cream. One of the best mexican starters I’ve had in a long time!

Next was the Bruschetta, The bread was rustic and crispy topped with mozzarella, tomatoes, basil foam and balsamic caviar. The caviar pearls bursting in my mouth was an amazing experience.

Next was the Caprice Di Quattro, a beautiful dish served in soup spoons where the mozzarella is deconstructed and reconstructed as spheres. That was another amazing starter. I loved how fresh the pesto tasted in this dish.

The main courses here are your regular food without the drama, which was a tad bit disappointing for me. The pizza was great and the Ravioli was perfect, but, I missed the drama.

By now, we were like bursting at the seams. We were so full, but still were craving for dessert. Can’t help, we just love our desserts.

With a huge weight on our hearts we ordered the lightest of desserts. We were literally so full that we just couldn’t order the best dessert on the menu as it was very heavy. But oh boy, were we glad!! We ordered the Choco Chunk Fudge Brownie Cage for the little one and the Tiramisu for us. Both were out of the world, but that Tiramisu though… every element in a foam form and decadent. Can’t rave enough about this place.

One advice, if you’re looking for a fab experience, stick to the drink, starters and desserts and be prepared to be floored!!

I would give this place a 4.5 out of 5.

What do you think about this place? Have you been here? I would love to hear your reviews!

Until Laters…

My Microblading Experience With PhiBrows.

I would rather be late and have perfect brows than be on time and have bad brows!!

I’ve once again started working full time and am always short on time!! If you know me, you would know that I hate stepping out of the house without any makeup. my liner has to be on fleek and my brows on point!!

So when I got an opportunity to review micro blading, I just couldn’t resist. Microblading is a new must have for perfect brows. It’s an art where the artist makes fine hair like strokes on your brows, with a blade. Then these strokes are filled with color which is of the highest quality so that it lasts for a very long time. The life span of microblading depends on the pigment that is used to fill in the strokes.

PhiBrows is a world renowned academy which has a pretty good name due to its highest standards in everything they do. Their artist is certified Dubai Municipality.

What exactly do they do at Phi Brows?

Microblading is a manual skill of semi-permanent eyebrow drawing. Shape of the eyebrows is calculated according to the golden intersection (Phi 1,618), face morphology and bones structure. Symmetry is achieved through PhiBrows application and it is measured while clients eyes are closed, because only then mimetic muscles that can affect eyebrows symmetry are relaxed. Strokes are always drawn in the direction of natural hair growth, and with the same color as natural is, to achieve hyper-realistic look.

Treatment is performed with disposable sterile tool and pigments are produced in accordance with the highest standards. After the treatment, color is around 30% darker and eyebrows are around 10% thicker. Correction is done one month after the initial treatment, because between 10-15% of drawn strokes disappear after the first treatment.

Your aftercare in a first 7 days makes 80% of the treatments success. Rinsing and applying cream is of great importance, and in these first 7 days you need to avoid sun, sauna, sweating, public water, and putting any type of makeup on the eyebrow area.
Color duration primarily depends on how oily the skin is. The oiler the skin, the shorter the color lasts. On average, expected time until a new color refreshment is between 8-15 months.

I got mine done from Jelena. She’s brilliant at microblading. I would suggest you ask for her. It’s microblading, so of course it hurts, but Jelena makes it a lot lighter than what it would actually feel like.

All in all, I would highly recommend this place for Microblading.

Have any of you guys done something like this? Any reviews? I would love to know!!

Until Later…
